Painted from my own photographs of the epic Grace Cathedral, the crown of San Francisco's Nob Hill Neighborhood. I visited the cathedral often as an art student studying a few blocks away at the Academy of Art University Powell St. and Sutter St. buildings.

This vibrant and expressive oil painting celebrates this San Francisco landmark's incredible Gothic architectural details, such as the central rosette window, with a special emphasis on dramatic cool-toned shadows and pushed perspective.
